¿QUÉ ES TRASTORNOS DEL CICLO DE LA UREA?

Un Trastornos del ciclo de la urea son un grupo de enfermedades genéticas causadas por una mutación que resulta en deficiencia de una de las seis enzimas del ciclo úrea. Estas enzimas son responsables de quitar el amoniaco de la sangre.

Las seis enfermedades de ciclo úrea son:

Deficiencia de Arginasa (AG)
Aciduría argininosucínica (ASA)
Deficiencia de carbamoil fosfato sintetasa (CPS)
Citrulinaemia
Deficiencia de n acetilglutamato sintetasa (NAGS)
Deficienci de transcarbamilasa ornitina (OTC)

WHAT IS UREA CYCLE DISORDERS (UCD) ?

A urea cycle disorder is a genetic disorder caused by a mutation that results in a deficiency of one of the six enzymes in the urea cycle. These enzymes are responsible for removing ammonia from the blood stream.

The six urea cycle disorders are:

Arginase Deficiency (AG)
Argininosuccinic Aciduria (ASA)
Carbamyl Phosphate Synthetase Deficiency (CPS)
Citrullinaemia
N-Acetylglutamate Synthetase Deficiency (NAGS)
Ornithine Transcarbamylase Deficiency (OTC)
